Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our residence, admissions, daily life, and policies.

Sober living is a structured, substance-free residential environment that bridges the gap between intensive treatment (rehab) and fully independent living. Unlike rehab, which provides clinical treatment for addiction, sober living focuses on building life skills, accountability, employment, and community support in a real-world setting. Many residents come to us after completing a treatment program, though it is not always required.
Realcovery serves adult men (18+) who are committed to sobriety and willing to engage in a structured recovery environment. Our residents come from all walks of life and varying stages of recovery. Whether you are leaving treatment, transitioning from incarceration, or seeking a fresh start, we welcome men who are serious about building a new life.
While many of our residents have completed a treatment program, it is not always a strict requirement. We evaluate each applicant individually based on their recovery history, current sobriety, and commitment to the program. We're happy to discuss your specific situation during a confidential phone call.
Start by calling us at (208) 731-7354 for a confidential conversation. We'll discuss your situation, answer your questions, and walk you through the application process. From there, you'll complete an application and participate in a brief interview. The entire process is designed to be straightforward and supportive.
Availability varies. We encourage you to call as soon as you're considering sober living. Even if we're at capacity, we can begin the application process and place you on our priority list. We also maintain connections with other resources in case immediate placement is needed elsewhere.
We support multiple recovery pathways including Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Twin Falls has an active recovery community with meetings available throughout the week. We help coordinate schedules and transportation as needed.
Realcovery has a strict no visitor policy, other than Law enforcement or Case Managers and staff.
We recommend bringing personal clothing, toiletries, any prescribed medications (in original containers), identification documents, and any recovery-related materials (Big Book, journal, etc.). Rooms are furnished, so large furniture is not needed. We'll provide a detailed move-in checklist during the admissions process.
Residents have access to a fully equipped kitchen and are responsible for their own meals. This is intentional: learning to plan, shop for, and prepare meals is an essential life skill for independent living.
Please contact us directly at (208) 731-7354 for current rates. We strive to keep our residence affordable while maintaining the premium quality that sets us apart. We can discuss payment structures and options during your initial phone call. Our goal is to remove financial barriers to recovery whenever possible.
Sober living residences typically operate independently of insurance coverage. However, many of our residents utilize their insurance for outpatient treatment, therapy, and other clinical services they attend while living with us. We can help you explore available resources and potential financial assistance during intake.
We believe financial limitations should not prevent someone from accessing quality recovery support. Contact us to discuss your situation. We may be able to work with you on payment arrangements, connect you with community resources, or explore other options. The most important step is reaching out.
Your fee covers furnished housing, all utilities (electricity, water, internet/WiFi), laundry facilities, drug and alcohol testing, employment assistance, peer mentoring, and 24/7 staff support. Residents are responsible for their own food, personal items, and transportation.
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for active substance use on the premises. Regular and random drug and alcohol testing is conducted. If a resident tests positive, we evaluate the situation with compassion but also accountability. Depending on circumstances, we may increase structure, recommend additional treatment, or in some cases, require them to leave and seek a higher level of care.
Core rules include maintaining complete sobriety, attending all required meetings and house functions, following curfew guidelines, completing household chores, submitting to drug and alcohol testing, treating everyone with respect, and no violence or threatening behavior. A complete list of house rules is provided during orientation, and residents sign an agreement acknowledging these guidelines.
Yes, curfew is 10pm unless an official work schedule is provided showing graveyard shift hours.
Yes, in certain circumstances. Active substance use, violence, theft, repeated rule violations, or refusal to participate may result in discharge. However, we always work with residents first to address issues and find solutions. Discharge is a last resort, and even then, we help connect individuals with alternative resources.
Yes, we support medically prescribed treatment under proper physician supervision. All medications must be disclosed during the admissions process, stored properly, and taken as prescribed.
We maintain discretion regarding our residents' identities and presence. Our facility is in a quiet residential neighborhood that blends with the community. While our address is available for those seeking services, we respect the privacy of all residents and do not disclose personal information to outside parties without consent.
Yes! Employment is encouraged and supported. Residents are expected to seek employment or enroll in education. We provide employment assistance and work with local employers who support recovery.
Yes, REALCOVERY is exclusively a men's sober living residence. We believe gender-specific recovery environments allow for deeper vulnerability, stronger brotherhood bonds, and more focused personal growth.
We approach relapse with compassion and accountability. Each situation is evaluated individually. We may increase structure, recommend additional treatment, or adjust expectations. Our goal is always to support recovery, not punish setbacks.
While we don't provide daily transportation, our location in Twin Falls offers proximity to public transit, employment centers, and recovery meetings. We help residents develop transportation plans and facilitate rides to essential appointments when possible.
